Dear Center School Community,

Today was a special day for our students. The Read to Care program was a phenomenal success. We celebrated the generous spirit of our PeaceBuilders and their impressive reading achievements at our Peace Rally with Senator Eric Lesser and Superintendent Doyle as our honored guests. Representatives from the Longmeadow PD, the Springfield Police Department, and the Easthampton Police Department delivered 2000 care bags to shelters in surrounding communities!!

There are so many people to thank for the success of the program. The Read to Care committee: Joy Stacy, Karen Rafferty, Valerie Fritz, and Lynne Elfeky-hours of thoughtful planning and coordination went into the program and they deserve tremendous praise.

Our teachers are simply the best. They organized lovely peace presentations each unique to the grade level. Importantly, they continue to grow a love of reading in our students that I hope will be with them long after their journey at Center School...  Laura Giuggio had her CSS crew out and about at the rally, so stay tuned for the new edition where you can catch a glimpse of the spirit and energy of your children!!

My gratitude to you, our families, for your support of endeavors that teach and encourage children to help others in such meaningful ways.  As I told the children, their Cardinal colors were shining bright today.

Enjoy the beautiful weekend and I shall see you next week at conferences.

With appreciation,

Donna Hutton, Principal
