Longmeadow Public Schools will be implementing an optional, recommended full day kindergarten program where the rigorous curriculum will be aligned with the Common Core Standards.  A half day program will be also be offered as mandated by law.

We are pleased to announce that there will be an optional full-day kindergarten program at all three elementary schools this fall.  Each school will house at least 2 full-day kindergarten classrooms.  The School Committee has established a fee of $3,000 for the year.  Payments will be split up into 5 equal installments.  The first installment will be the deposit of $600 which is due upon registration.  The other four $600 installments will be due: Aug. 1stOct. 1stDec. 1st and Feb. 1st.

We will still offer half-day kindergarten classes for those families who do not wish to place their child in the full day program.  There is no fee with the half-day program. Half day Kindergarten will be offered at Wolf Swamp and Center schools. Center will have an AM section from 8:45am - 11:30am and Wolf Swamp will have a PM section from 12:00pm – 2:45pm. Placement in a HDK program if you are in Blueberry Hill district will be determined by the district.

Our registration packets and information will be sent out on Friday, January 31, 2014 with a due date ofFriday, February 28, 2014. Registration packets and deposits for the full day program must be received no later than March 1, 2014 to guarantee attendance at the child’s home school.  Registrations and deposits received after March 1st will be accepted into the full day kindergarten program; however, students may be placed in a school which is NOT their home school.  Registration materials are accepted during normal business hours. Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
