Hello Center School Families,

We are looking for two new members to serve on the Center School School Council Committee.

What is a School Council?
A school council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, students, required to be established by each school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C.

What is the role of the School Council?
  • Adopting educational goals for the school.
  • Identifying the educational needs of the students.
  • Reviewing the annual school budget.
  • Formulating a school improvement plan.

When and how often does the council meet?
Once a month beginning October 1st at 3:00. Thereafter the meeting will be the last Monday of the month from 3:00 to 4:00.

Please consider serving on the committee. You may contact me via email or by phone if you are interested and/or if you have additional questions about the Council.

Sincerely,
Donna Hutton
