Dear Families,

We send this letter with mixed emotions. In the coming weeks Blueberry Hill will wish you and your family the very best as you move forward to continue your elementary journey at Center School.  Center School will plan, welcome, and celebrate your beginnings with your new community.

We understand that your family may experience a bittersweet period, and we will be at your sides each step of the way.  We encourage and hope you will reach out to us at any time for our assistance.

Our vision for this transition process is to develop and facilitate a transition that supports students and their families.  The students will thrive at Center School.  Engaging opportunities will help them adjust to their new learning environment quickly.  Continuous, exciting school activities will keep new Center School children engaged, content and joyous, as they continue their elementary education in Longmeadow. We approach the change in a celebratory and positive manner.  Our students will also approach the change in the same manner. We’ve planned many events to help realize our vision.

Tomorrow begins our process with the children.  Ms. Pratt will meet with the students by grade level to discuss the overall transition plan with them.  She will discuss the “Welcome Events” calendar  (see attached).  Mrs. Hutton will stop by later in the day to say hello and introduce herself.

Perhaps you may want to talk with your child about Ms. Pratt’s meeting, as well as the overall changes. Let us know if you sense your child needs a little extra support.

We’ll continue to be in touch in the coming days about the transition; we’ll always appreciate your input.

Kind regards,

Marie Pratt

Donna Hutton
