First Day Procedure

We’ll welcome our 1st through 5th students back to their school world Tuesday, September 2nd. You’ll hear Center School's historic bell begin to toll at 8:30 AM to signal the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.

Here is some logistical information for the morning arrival. All students in grades 1 through 5 will line up on the playground in the back of the school. Our teaching community will be on the playground to welcome you, so please ask for assistance if you need help- especially our new families! Please remember that we’ll welcome our pre-k and kindergarten students on September 3rd. They too will gather on the playground on their first day where teachers will be there to welcome families.

We’ll use the playground procedure for the first day. Wednesday, and thereafter, ALL students will enter the building at 8:30 AM and go directly to class. If your child’s classroom is in the main building (1st, 3rd, 4th) he/she enters through the main doors. All other students (kinder, 2nd, 5th) enter through the esplanade door near the gymnasium. NOTE: If your child rides a bike to school, he/she simply parks the bike and walks directly to the appropriate entrance.

RAIN PLAN for the first day: Students will enter through the appropriate entrances as stated above rather than gather on the playground. Teachers will be at the doorways to help students make their way to classrooms.

See everyone on Tuesday!
