“One of the most important factors in a child’s success in school is the degree to which his or her parents are actively involved in the child’s education.” James Coleman
Dear Center School Families,
We anticipate productive and informative parent teacher conferences this week. Your child's teacher will share relevant work samples as well as discuss overall beginning insights about your child as a learner.
Conferences are intended to be a celebration of academic learning and importantly, a conversation about your child’s social development. We consider the October conference to be a goal setting conference. You will hear academic and social goals for your child, with ways you can assist your child with learning at home. Teachers appreciate hearing your insights and your goals for your child both as a learner and growing citizen.
Here is an informative link that I've shared in the past from the Harvard Family Research Project. The tip sheet provides suggestions for a positive conference experience.
Please remember that students are dismissed at 11:30AM today and tomorrow. Please be prompt at pick up so teachers may begin conferences in a timely manner. The special teachers will be available if you’d like to stop in and/or schedule a meeting.
Don't forget to stop by the Book Fair to support our PTO and to help your child choose among 100's of great reads!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
