Dear Center School Families,
Friday, August 21st is the day your child has likely anticipated this summer! We’ll post class lists with teacher assignments on Friday. We’re welcoming many new families from within Longmeadow and from across the country! It will be a year of wonderful new beginnings for all of us!
We’re also welcoming new staff members to Center School due to retirements and increased class sections. Please click on the Center School website to view teachers’ web sites with introductions.
Here’s a few ways you can access class rosters:
Class rosters will be posted via the Parent Portal Friday, August 21st at 3:00. All veteran or returning parents can access the portal by visiting the Parent Portal :https://powerschool.longmeadow.k12.ma.us/public/. If you do not remember your username or password, you can get this information by accessing the parent portal website and following the directives for retrieving a username and/or password. For families new to the district or for those families who have not setup an account, information will be sent home next week in the back-to-school packets explaining how to access the parent portal.
To access the rosters, you will enter the portal under your child’s name and go to the “Student Bulletin”. Once in the “Student Bulletin”, scroll down to find the specific grade(s) and teacher(s). Unfortunately, we do not have the capabilities as an office staff to address questions or issues regarding the portal website, so kindly refrain from calling the school. We’ll be happy to assist you with any other back-to-school issues.
Teachers will post class rosters on their websites on August 21st. Click on any teacher at your child’s grade level and you’ll find all three-or four-lists. The lists will have the full names of students, but lists will be taken down by Saturday morning. Teachers will not use full names on their sites after the posting. http://ctr.longmeadow.k12.ma.us
Library windows in the back of the school:
Rosters will be posted on the library windows in the back of the school by 3:00.
As always, class placements were thoughtful and time intensive, but especially so this year with so many new students. We had input from families, teachers, specialists, and interventionists. Marie Pratt and I reviewed the lists countless times. I’m confident we have created balanced classrooms. You will see that we have caring and talented teachers who place students first. I trust your child is in good hands and our partnerships will grow throughout the year.
Please call or email me with any questions or concerns. If you call the school, be sure to leave a message in my voice mail box , not the main office box.
Finally, a lot of information will be coming your way in the coming days. Continue to check our website and your email for important information. Know you will receive all the information you need for a smooth start to the year!
